Danmer Custom Shutters' wood shutters are made from only durable, furniture grade basswood, a tight grained, low resin, and closed pore hardwood.
Basswood, Tilia americana, is a fine straight grain material with an even texture and little contrast between early and late wood. It is a creamy white in color and lighter in weight than the related European Lime. Basswood is a preferred wood for carving and quality wood craftsmanship. It grows in Canada and the United States.
